12/21/09 Padres acquired catcher Dusty Ryan from the Tigers in exchange for a player to be named or cash considerations
Ryan is a guy that is an average hitting catcher, but has a strong arm, throwing out 31% of runners at Toledo (AAA). With the Farm System weak at catching in the higher levels, it looks like Ryan will have a legit chance to compete for a roster spot come Spring Training.
