AMERICA’S FINEST CITY: The Padres have won three of the season’s four games after capturing the home opener yesterday over the San Francisco Giants 3-1…after an off day Thursday, the Padres will play 20 consecutive games without…that stretch begins this weekend at home vs. the Dodgers and then includes a three-game set 4/11-13 vs. Cincinnati next week…San Diego’s next road trip features a four-game series at Houston and three games at Chicago’s Wrigley Field (4/14-20).

VS. THE GIANTS: The Padres won 12 of 18 games last season against the eventual World Series champions…San Diego won the first seven games over the Giants…SF captured six of the final 11…San Diego is 42-31 vs. San Francisco since the start of the 2007 season, including 23-14 at PETCO Park…San Diego has won 16 of the past 25 games vs. San Francisco since 9/7/09…last year the Padres were 5-4 vs. the Giants at PETCO, 7-2 at AT&T Park.

OUT OF THE GATE: The Padres are off to a 3-1 start for the seventh time in club history…only one team, the 1984 National League champions, began 4-0…the Padres have been 4-1 five times, most recently in 1995, 1996 and 1997.

HOME, SWEET HOME: San Diego product Aaron Harang pitched 6.0 innings and allowed six hits and one run in his first start as the Padres won their home opener 3-1…Luke Gregerson, Mike Adams and Heath Bell combined for three scoreless innings…Nick Hundley went 3-for-4, while Chris Denorfia was 2-for-4…Cedric Hunter notched his first Major League hit.
