“Hot Stove, Warm Hearts” - Padres’ Fans Give Back During the Holidays

What: Padres fans are some of the most generous people I am privileged to know (you have to be if you’re absolutely loyal to this team, right?) and the holidays are the perfect time to spread that love.  We are so excited to present “Hot Stove, Warm Hearts,” an inaugural Friarhood charity event that combines all our favorite things — baseball, beer, street tacos, and of course, several worthy causes.

Please come by to talk baseball (In person! It’s true; the Friarhood exists in a world beyond Facebook, Twitter and comment boards.) and take advantage of free food and drink specials at everyone’s favorite establishment just outside the right field

gate, the Tilted Kilt.  Your donation to Toys for Tots is not only appreciated more than you know, but comes with a taco. Right on!

We will also be providing cards so that you can use the opportunity to write letters to military members through the organization A Million Thanks.  You will also have a chance to purchase raffle tickets to win Padres memorabilia, with proceeds dedicated to helping “adopt” a family in need for the holidays through the Armed Services YMCA.  Just like the Padres support our military heroes in so many ways, we are honored to do our part to contribute to these exceptional men and women and the programs they support.

It’s a long off-season, and while most people are counting down shopping days left until Christmas, we’re counting down days until pitchers and catchers report.  So come have some lively chats about off-season moves and lineup wish lists, debate who’s going to fill the closer’s role and even continue the never-ending uniform discussion.  While you’re at it, please bring a gift to spread the love to some very deserving families.
