Daily Far Round-Up: 4-13-13

Let me start by saying that I apologize for the lack of Daily Farm Round-Up’s recently; I had to deal with a family emergency over the weekend. Without further ado, here is a recap of Padre minor league news from April 13th, 2013: despite a 6 run outburst from the TinCap offense, the TinCaps fell 9-6 against the Captains. Lake Elsinore blew out Inland Empire 10-1 largely due to the effort of Jace Peterson who was a home run shy of the cycle. Offense was a trend as the Missions scored 13 runs and collected 15 hits; to put the cherry on top, Matthew Andriese pitched very well as the Missions destroyed the Drillers 13-2. Robbie Erlin won his first start of 2013 after delivering a good start for the T-Pads and adding an RBI of his own.

Notes: Matthew Andriese is not the most popular name in the Missions’ rotation, but he has been quietly effective to start the young season So far, he’s thrown 10 innings while only allowing 2 runs for a robust 1.80 ERA. He has 9 strikeouts and only 2 walks in that span. While Reymond Fuentes did not enjoy a productive year at San Antonio last year, he has experienced much more success so far; after this game, he is hitting .325.

Justin Hancock-SP: 4.1 IP, 6H, 4ER, 3BB, 4K

Notes: After an excellent first start to the season, Justin Hancock did not fare nearly as well his second time around.
