The Storm and the TinCaps were victorious due to strong offensive performances from Hunter Renfroe and Fernando Perez, respectively. The Missions were shutout while Keyvius Sampson put the Chihuahuas in a hole they couldn’t climb out of.

Notes: Keyvius Sampson endured a terrible start as he allowed 3 home runs, and 9 earned runs over less than 4 innings. His ERA skyrocketed up to 7.71. Cameron Maybin is now hitless over his last 10 AB’s. Maybin is hitting .083 over his first 4 games during his rehab assignment.

Notes: Jace Peterson continued his sizzling start to the season with another multi-hit night. Peterson raised his average to .391 while his triple slash stands at .481/.522/1.003. Not only is Peterson hitting for a high average, but he has shown excellent plate discipline as he has 8 walks and only 5 strikeouts on the year. Starting pitcher Josh Geer tossed a quality start and deserved the win, but the lack of offense handed him a tough a luck loss.

Notes: Hunter Renfroe has now homered in back-to-back games. Renfroe has driven in 6 runs over his last 2 games; his average is just .235, but he has driven in 11 runs over the 13 games he’s played. Colin Rea secured his first victory, tonight’s start was easily his best of the year.

Notes: The TinCaps, led by Fernando Perez, dominated at the plate in tonight’s game. Perez came into this game with 4 RBI’s and left this game with 9 RBI’s. Walker Weickel enjoyed his first successful start of the season. It wasn’t perfect – he did allow 7 base runners over 5 innings with 2 runs scored – but Weickel earned his first of hopefully many victories of the season.
