Despite an impressive performance by Daniel Robertson, the Spring Sox outplayed the T-Pads as Tucson lost 13-5. San Antonio, Lake Elsinore and Fort Wayne all won close battles. San Antonio used a clutch home run from A.J. Kirby-Jones to earn the win while Lee Orr helped power the Storm to a 9-8 victory. Joe Ross earned his 3rd win of the season as Fort Wayne won 6-4.

Notes: Aside from a solid performance from Daniel Robertson, there were no positives from the T-Pads game. Keyvius Sampson labored through 2 unspectacular innings while the lineup was only able to collect 7 hits. The bullpen did not fare any better as every single pitcher that Tucson used tonight (6 total pitchers) allowed at least 1 run. Colorado Springs scored in 7 different innings tonight.

Notes: A.J. Kirby-Jones hit a clutch, go-ahead home run in the bottom of the 8th to give the Storm a 1 run lead and the victory. Reymond Fuentes continues to be productive; he smacked 2 of the Missions’ 5 hits tonight and is hitting .364 on the year, a vast improvement from his .218 average that he attained last year with San Antonio. Wilfredo Boscan enjoyed his best start as a member of the Padre organization, hopefully he can sustain the success moving forward.

Notes: Every member of the lineup besides Travis Jankowski collected at least 1 base hit as the Storm won a close shootout with the JetHawks. Lee Orr continues his hot hitting; his 3-hit performance raised his average to a stellar .424. Jace Peterson appears to be erasing his slow start; after tonight’s performance he’s collected multiple hits in 4 of his last 5 games. HE is hitting .270 on the year with 11 RBI.

Joe Ross-SP: 5.2 IP, 6H, ER, 2BB, 3K (W, 3-0)

Notes:  Joe Ross continues a fantastic season that’s seen him allow just 3 runs over 20.1 innings (1.33 ERA). Dane Phillips has hit safely in 5 of his last 6 games. He has 14 hits over his last 10 games and is hitting .375 on the year. Corey Adamson hit his first home run of the year and has now recorded at least 1 RBI in each of his past 6 games.
