Daily Farm Round-Up: 4-29-13
In his second start with Tucson, Eddie Bonine delivered a quality start that was nullified by the lack of offensive output from the T-Pads’ lineup. Matt Andriese was able to collect 8 strikeouts tonight but allowed 5 runs in 5 innings. Fortunately, the Missions’ lineup was able to back him up as the San Antonio won 8-7. Alberth Martinez’s first home run of the year was not enough for the TinCaps as they fell 6-2 against the LumberKings. Lake Elsinore had the day off.

Eddie Bonine-SP: 6.0 IP, 6H, 2ER, BB, K, HR Allowed (L, 0-2)
Notes: Eddie Bonine tossed a quality start, yet he still received the loss as the T-Pads could only contribute 4 hits to his solid effort. James Darnell made his 2013 debut and collected a double in 4 AB’s. Travis Buck is in the midst of a nasty slump; he last collected a base hit on April 22nd and is currently on a 0-22 stretch. His average, which was once well above .300, has plummeted to .253.
San Antonio Missions 8, Midland RockHounds 7
Reymond Fuentes-RF: 1-3, K, 2 Runs scored, SB(11)
Rico Noel-CF: 0-5, SB(14)
Everett Williams-LF: 0-5

Matt Andriese-SP: 5.0 IP, 6H, 5ER, 3BB, 8K
Matt Stites-RP: 1.0 IP, 0H, 0R (S, 2)
Notes: Matt Andriese is human after all. After starting the season with just 2 earned runs in 21 innings, Andriese allowed more than double that amount in just 5 innings tonight. The silver lining for him is that he did manage to strike out 8 batters. Despite the less than ideal start, Andriese’s ERA is just 2.42 over 26 innings. The bottom of the order did the damage for the Missions tonight; Blackwood, Rodriguez and Kirby-Jones contributed 7 RBI on the night.
Lake Elsinore Storm: DNP
Fort Wayne TinCaps 2, Clinton LumberKings 6
Alberth Martinez-RF: 1-4, HR(1), RBI, K, Run scored
Maxx Tissenbaum-2B: 3-4
Gabriel Quintana-3B: 1-4, K, Run scored

Jeremy Baltz-DH: 0-4
Luis Tejada-1B: 1-3, RBI, K
Ruben Mejia-SP: 3.0 IP, 5H, 5R, 2ER, BB (L, 1-2)
Notes: The TinCaps only committed one error tonight but it was a costly one. An error by Maxx Tissenbaum in the 3rd allowed 3 unearned runs to score and took Ruben Mejia out of the game prematurely. While Tissenbaum did have a costly error, he did his best to negate it by collecting 3 hits at the plate. He has now hit safely in 5 straight games and 9 of his last 10; he’s hitting .329 on the year.
