Daily Farm Round-Up: 4-8-13
The Tucson Padres routed the Salt Lake Bees 14-3 in a 5 inning game. Jaff Decker went yard while almost every member of the lineup contributed. After being held to just 1 run last night, the Missions evened the series with Cardinals by winning 5-2. Matt Stites and Kevin Quackenbush slammed the door on them. The TinCaps lost pretty badly; the offense was sputtering all night, and the starting pitcher, Erik Cabrera, allowed 8 runs in under 4 innings of work.

Notes: The T-Pads offense was on an absolute tear tonight; 14 runs in one game is an outstanding offensive performance, however, this game was shortened to 5 innings because of wind. That’s an average of almost 3 runs per inning, impressive. The first 6 hitters of the lineup collected multiple hits while Decker, Blanks, Buck, Galvez, and Anna all collected multiple RBI.

The bullpen’s potent 1-2 combo of Matt Stites and Kevin Quackenbush was stellar tonight as they combined to throw 2 scoreless innings with 3 strikeouts. Reymond Fuentes and Tommy Medica continue to swing a hot bats; after each collectied 2 hits tonight they are hitting .364 and .444 respectively. The win today gave the Missions a winning record: 3-2.
