The Chihuahuas, Missions, and Storm all played in 1-run games which just the Storm coming away with a victory. Odrisamer Despaigne impressed in his professional debut with the Missions.

Notes: Despite 5 plate appearances, Jace Peterson didn’t record a single AB; he walked all 5 times we went to the plate. Talk about working the count. After a hot start to the year, Jason Lane has not been that effective as of late. Lane has allowed 16 runs over his last 3 starts, and his ERA has risen to 4.47.

Notes: Cuban pitcher Odrisamer Despaigne, who was recently signed by the Padres, excelled in his professional debut by striking out 6 batters over just 3 innings of work. Austin Hedges has now homered in back-to-back games. Hedges, who is almost universally considered the best defensive catcher in the minor leagues, has really impressed with his offense recently. Over his last 10 games, Hedges is hitting .417. On the year, Hedges is hitting .288 over 125 AB’s.

Notes: Hunter Renfroe blasted his 8th home run of the year for the Storm tonight. His 8 home runs are good for 2nd in the California League. Diego Goris is having a good year for the Storm; Goris is hitting .323 over his first 130 AB’s with 4 home runs and 20 RBI’s.

Notes: Dustin Peterson drove in all 4 of the TinCaps’ runs, but his effort was not enough as the TinCaps fell 5-4 against the Silver Hawks. Weickel didn’t have his best stuff tonight as he surrendered 5 runs and 9 base runners over 4.2 innings pitched. Weickel, a 2012 supplemental 1st round draft pick, has endured a trying year as he owns a 7.12 ERA over 8 starts.
