Daily Farm Round-Up: 5-19-13

All 4 Padres affiliates lost due to disappointing starting pitching. There wasn’t a single quality start tossed tonight and every affiliate allowed at least 5 runs to score. In Fort Wayne’s loss, Michael Kelly threw a scoreless inning with 2 K’s as he continues to pitch well in 2013. Lake Elsinore’s offense was absent from their game against the Nuts. Despite a home run from Everett Williams and an RBI from Kalian Sams, the Missions couldn’t contain the RoughRiders as they lost 8-4. The T-Pads were unable to recover from a mediocre start by Wilfredo Boscan.

Cody Decker, who has bounced around between San Antonio and Tucson, collected 2 hits tonight and raised his average to .282 with Tucson. He’s starting to pick it up as he has collected 7 RBI over his past 10 games.

Three weeks after I was born, Padre legend Tony Gwynn visited my hospital and handed out teddy bears to all the newborn children, including me. I have been a Padre fan ever since. Whether SD is in the midst of an exciting playoff run, or an uneventful off-season, I love following them and I love writing about them.
