The entire farm was excellent offensively tonight. Fort Wayne paced the farm with 17 runs scored while El Paso brought up the rear with a “measly” 7 runs scored.

Notes: Jake Goebbert enjoyed his best night as a member of the Padres organization. Goebbert broke a 4 game hitless string with his 2-run home run in the 1st inning. Jace Peterson is now on a 6 game hitting streak and has raised his average to .348 with the Chihuahuas.

Notes: Yeison Asencio had been enduring a trying season offensively prior to tonight. 5 hits, 2 home runs, and 5 RBI’s later he has a lot to feel good about. His average went up from .208 to .230 in this game. Rymer Liriano, who hit .220 with 3 home runs and 12 RBI’s in April is hitting .365 with 7 home runs and 16 RBI’s in May.

Notes: This was the 7th start of the season for Zach Eflin in which he allowed 1 run or less. After doing well with Fort Wayne last year, Eflin has continued his success up with the Storm. He boasts a 5-2 record with a 3.23 ERA over his first 10 starts of the season. Hunter Renfroe is riding a hot streak; he’s hitting .333 with 2 home run and 7 RBI over his last 10 games.

Notes: The TinCaps failed to score in just 1 inning tonight as they set their season best for runs scored. Fort Wayne benefited from 7 errors committed by the Lugnuts, but they still went 7-for-18 with RISP. Dustin Peterson and Fernando Perez both had 3 RBI nights which raised their respective RBI totals to 33 and 32. Peterson and Perez rank 2nd and 3rd in the Midwest League for RBI’s.
