Daily Farm Round-Up: 5-6-13
Every starting pitcher tonight tossed a quality start; for Walker Weickel and Donn Roach, it was their first quality start of the year. Both Weickel and Roach suffered similar fates; both of their offenses floundered throughout the game as Fort Wayne and San Antonio combined for 1 run tonight. It was a different story for Tucson pitcher Tim Stauffer. After allowing just 1 run and striking out 8 over 6 innings, James Darnell and the T-Pads backed him up with 6 runs as Tucson collected the victory.
Hitting Prospect of the Day: James Darnell

Daniel Robertson-RF: 2-5, RBI, 2 Runs scored
Travis Buck-LF: 0-1

Jaff Decker-CF: 1-2, 2b, 2BB, Run scored
Tim Stauffer-SP: 6.0 IP, 7H, ER, 2BB, 8K (W, 2-2)
Notes: After struggling mightily to begin the year, Tim Stauffer has been lights out. He’s strung together 5 impressive starts in a row, 4 of which are quality start. In his only non-quality start he went 5 innings with 2 earned runs. His ERA, which was once as high as 9.82, has dropped to 3.53. James Darnell continues to hit well since returning from the DL; he is on a 7 game hitting streak and is hitting .345 during that span. After going hitless for 4 straight games, Daniel Robertson is on a 4 game hitting streak and is hitting .325 on the year.
San Antonio Missions 0, Corpus Christi Hooks 3
Reymond Fuentes-RF: 0-3, BB, 2K
Rico Noel-CF: 1-3, BB
Everett Williams-LF: 0-4, 3K
Jeudy Valdez-2B: 0-2, K
Cody Decker-DH: 1-3, BB, 2K
A.J Kirby-Jones-1B: 1-3, 2b, K
Donn Roach-SP: 6.0 IP, 3H, 0R, 2BB, 5K
Matt Stites-RP: 1.0 IP, 3H, 3ER, K, 2 HR Allowed
Notes: Donn Roach set a season high in innings pitched with 6, and has now strung together two solid starts since enduring a rough stretch for the last week of April. Despite the improved results, he has no wins to show for it, but he has lowered his ERA down to 3.06. A rare hiccup from Matt Stites earned him the loss while the entire Missions offense could only scratch across 3 hits and failed to score.
Lake Elsinore Storm: DNP
Fort Wayne TinCaps 1, Peoria 4
Alberth Martinez-CF: 0-4
Maxx Tissenbuam-SS: 1-4, 2b, K
Jeremy Baltz-DH: 0-3, K
Dane Phillips-C: 1-4, 2b, K
Gabriel Quintana-3B: 2-4, K, Run scored
Brian Adams-CF: 0-4, 3K
Corey Adamson-RF: 2-3
Walker Weickel-SP: 6.0 IP, 8H, 2ER, 0BB, K (L, 0-1)
Notes: The TinCap offense was shut down for the 3rd night in a row as they have only scored 2 runs over their last 3 games. Walker Weickel turned in his first quality start of his professional career yet he also received his first loss of the season. It’s hard to find a bright spot offensively for Fort Wayne, but 2012 2nd round draft pick Dane Phillips collected a double that raised his average to .302 over 63 AB’s.
