The Chihuahuas and the TinCaps both won by one run tonight. The TinCaps rode their pitching staff to victory while the Chihuahuas were rewarded with another big game from Tommy Medica.

Notes: Oramas enjoyed arguably his best start in a Chihuahua uniform. Oramas set a season high with 6 innings pitched and with 9 strikeouts. Tommy Medica did damage with his bat again. Medica hit a bases clearing triple in the 3rd inning to tie the game 3-3. Medica has 8 RBI’s over his last 2 games, and 14 RBI’s over the 7 games he’s played with El Paso.

Notes: Rymer Liriano continues to hit well. Liriano is hitting .306 over his last 10 games with 1 triple, 4 home runs, and 8 RBI. Austin Hedges extended his hitting streak to 7 games with a single in the top of the 2nd. Hedges also showed off his plus defense as he picked off a runner at 1st in the first inning.

Notes: Chase Headley and Carlos Quentin continued their rehabs, and both were able to play defensively, although they were both subbed out late in the game. Hunter Renfroe hit his 7th home run of the season and drove in his 26th and 27th RBI’s.

Notes: For the 3rd night in a row the TinCaps underperformed offensively, but the 1 run they scored was all they needed, as the TinCaps pitching staff was stellar tonight. Dane Phillips had a couple of hits tonight and drove in the only run scored. Phillips has been in a bit of a rut after a hot start to the season; he is hitting .229 over his last 10 games.
