The Emeralds, led by Trae Turner and Jalen Goree, were the only team on the farm to earn a victory tonight. The Missions lost 4-1 despite a solid start from Bryce Morrow and Hunter Renfroe’s first Double-A home run.

Notes: In his second game played with the Missions, Hunter Renfroe hit his first Double-A home run. It was Renfroe’s 17th home run of the year. Unfortunately, that just about does it for Missions offensive highlights in this game. The Missions went 0-for-3 with RISP and spoiled a solid start from Bryce Morrow. Morrow owns a 1.50 ERA over 2 starts with the Missions.

Notes: Gabriel Quintana is getting hot at the plate. Quintana has 7 hits over his last 2 games played with 4 doubles and 5 RBI. Quintana is hitting .263 over 262 AB’s with the Storm, which is a little disappointing considering he hit .305 over 347 AB’s with the TinCaps last year.

Notes: Following his 2-hit game tonight, Jake Bauers has hit safely in 9 of his last 10 games. Bauers, an 18 year old who is the youngest player in the Midwest League, has arguably been the most consistent bat in the entire Padres organization this year. Bauers hit a whopping .379 over 95 AB’s in the month of May, and he is currently hitting .375 in the month of June. Expect to see his name on top prospect lists soon.
