All 3 farm teams that played tonight managed to secure close victories. The Missions won in 14 innings thanks to a go-ahead single from Travis Jankowski. The Dust Devils won by 3 as Peter Van Gansen hit his first professional home run and the AZL Padres enjoyed their first victory of the season.

Notes: It took 14 innings, but the Missions managed to outlast the Hooks in this game. Despite striking out 4 times tonight, Hunter Renfroe’s bat is heating up. After struggling most of the year with the Missions, Renfroe has swatted 3 home runs over his last 2 games. Renfroe is currently riding a 6 game hitting streak and he has driven at least 1 run in each of his last 4 games. Jose Rondon broke a 4 game hitless streak with a couple of hits in this contest. Rondon is 3-for-21 since being called up to San Antonio.

Kyle Overstreet, a 14th round pick from this year’s draft, made his professional debut tonight and went 1-for-4 with a double. Euri Minaya has multiple hits in both games the AZL Padres have this year.
