The Chihuahuas and the Dust Devils earned victories tonight due to excellent efforts from Cody Decker and Jose Castillo, respectively. The Missions and AZL Padres were not as fortunate as both clubs lost by 5 runs.

Notes: Cody Decker fell just a triple shy of the cycle as he swatted his 14 home run of the year giving him the second highest home run total at the Triple-A level; Decker’s .589 slugging leads the PCL. Jedd Gyorko continued to swing the bat well with the Chihuahuas; Gyorko now has 3 home runs over his last 5 games and is on a 7 game hitting streak.

Notes: Hunter Renfroe is now on an 8 game hitting streak after 1-for-4 with a single in this game. Renfroe is hitting .343 with 3 home runs and 6 RBI’s over his last 10 games. Duanel Jones snapped a 3 game hitless streak with a 3 hit effort tonight. Jones raised his average to .261 over 92 AB’s with the Missions.

Notes: The Dust Devils received help from the Canadians to win this one; the Canadians committed 4 errors, which led to 3 unearned runs scoring for Tri-City. Jose Castillo has now started two games for the Dust Devils and both starts have been very solid. Over his two starts Castillo has tossed 10 innings and allowed just 3 runs while punching out 9.
