Jaff Decker’s hot bat led the T-Pads to a close 6-5 victory. The Storm and the AZL Padres both lost by 1 run despite a home run by Jace Peterson for Lake Elsinore and strong start from Juan Oramas for the AZL Padres. Making his 3rd start for Fort Wayne, Adys Portillo pitched just 3 innings in the TinCaps eventual loss.

Jeremy Baltz has done well since his promotion to Lake Elsinore. Baltz has hit safely in all 5 games that he’s been in and it hitting .350 with a home run and a couple of RBI’s over that span.

Notes: Diego Goris has been very hot at the plate recently; following tonight’s perfect 3-3 game, Goris has hit safely in 6 straight games with 5 multi-hit games during that span. The most impressive part is that Goris has driven in 13 runs throughout his last 6 games. Trying to comeback from a right-triceps injury, Adys Portillo pitched just 3 innings.

Notes: After a rough start to his professional career, Trae Santos has picked up the pace. Santos has hit safely in 4 of his last 5 games and has raised his average to .270 on the year. Ryan Miller continues to hit well; he is now on a 6 game hitting streak and is hitting .400 so far on the year. Miller showed some defensive prowess as well as he threw out a runner attempting to steal.

Notes: Young catcher Jose Ruiz collected his first 2 hits of the season tonight while throwing out 2 would-be base stealers. After going 0-4 in his debut, Dustin Peterson has collected a hit in each of the next 3 games he’s played in. After striking out all 9 batters he faced in his last start, Juan Oramas continued to show his arm is healthy by throwing 4 shutout innings with 6 K’s.
