The Storm and the TinCaps both had huge offensive days in their respective wins while the Missions’ offense was blanked in their 8-0 loss. Jonathan Galvez and his 3 RBI’s led the Chihuahuas to a 6-4 victory.

Notes: Jonathan Galvez was the heart of the offense in El Paso’s 6-4 win tonight. Following tonight’s game, Galvez is hitting .360 over his last 10 games, and .306 overall. Billy Buckner rebounded after a rough start last week. Buckner owns a 3.44 ERA over 7 starts with the Chihuahuas.

Notes: Reymond Fuentes was the only bright spot for the Missions on a night where the starting pitcher, Matt Branham, allowed 8 earned runs, the offense was shutout, and the defense committed an error. Fuentes brought his average up to .265 with the 2-hit game.

Notes: Joe Ross has now tossed 3 quality starts in a row and has lowered his ERA to 2.82 over 13 starts – an impressive feat for a pitcher in the California League. Since being promoted to Lake Elsinore, Dane Phillips has received inconsistent playing time, but he has 5 hits, 2 home runs, and 4RBI’s over 3 games played.

Notes: Jake Bauers smashed 2 hits and increased his hitting streak to 10. Bauers is hitting .400 over his last 10 games and an impressive .360 on the year. Bauers was relatively unheard of going into this year, but expect to see his name on numerous Padres prospects lists going forward. Fernando Perez drove in 2 runs to bring his RBI total to 41, 2nd on the team to Dustin Peterson.
