It was a pretty sad night around the farm offensively as no team scored more than 3 runs. The Storm were the only farm team to earn a victory thanks to a strong start from Zach Eflin.

Notes: Reymond Fuentes has been swinging a hot bat as of late. Fuentes is currently riding a 6 game hitting streak and has his safely in 8 of his last 9 games. Over his last 10 games, Fuentes is hitting .343 with 1 home run and 4 RBI’s. Jeff Francoeur has been just as good recently; over his last 10 games he’s hitting .375 with 7 RBI’s.

Notes: After a slow start with the Missions, Hunter Renfroe has been heating up at the plate recently. Renfroe has hit safely in 6 of his last 7 games; he has 2 home runs and 6 RBI’s over that span. Rymer Liriano struggles continue as he struck out for the 12th time in 10 games tonight. Liriano is hitting just .176 over 9 games in July after hitting .235 in June.

Notes: Despite going 1-for-10 with RISP, the Storm managed to pull off the 3-1 victory due in large part to the strong start from Zach Eflin. Eflin has now tossed 2 straight quality starts and is 3-0 with a 1.59 ERA over 3 July starts. On the year, Eflin is 8-5 with a solid 3.62 ERA over 102.0 innings pitched.

Jake Bauers’ bat is starting to heat back up; Bauers is only hitting. 189 over his last 10 games, but he’s hit safely in 5 of his last 6 games.

Notes: Nick Torres hit his first professional home run in this game; he also enjoyed his first multi-hit game with the Emeralds. Trae Turner has hit safely in 3 straight games after going the previous 5 games without a hit. Turner’s bat has been sub-par so far this year, but the speed has been as advertised as he already has 8 stolen bases.

Notes: Jordan Paroubeck returned to the lineup and promptly delivered with 2 base hits as he raised his average to .385 with the AZL Padres. Max Fried made his 2nd rehab start, and while he allowed 4 hits and 2 runs, he also struck out 4 over 2 innings.
