Every team but the AZL Padres managed to earn a victory tonight. Led by Dane Phillips and Dustin Peterson, respectively, the Storm and the TinCaps were very strong offensively tonight.

Notes: Following a slow start, Hunter Renfroe has picked it up as of late. Renfroe is hitting .303 over his last 10 games with 2 home runs and 7 RBI’s. Austin Hedges is now on a 6 game hitting streak. Hedges is hitting .244 in the month of July and .247 overall.

Notes: Nick Vincent has now made 2 appearances with the Storm and has thrown a scoreless inning both times. Dane Phillips has now homered in back-to-back games. Phillips has hit safely in 9 of his last 10 games, he’s hitting .372 over that span and .309 over 123 AB’s with the Storm. Between the TinCaps and the Storm, Phillips is hitting .301 with 9 home runs and 55 RBI’s over 279 AB’s.

Notes: Max Fried made his first start for the TinCaps this year. Fried allowed 6 baserunners and only struck out 1 batter, but he limited the damage by only allowing 1 run to score. Dustin Peterson ended his brief RBI drought with a home run and 3 RBI’s tonight. Peterson raised his RBI total to 69 which is tops in the Padres organization. Trae Turner smacked his first two extra base hits with the TinCaps in this game. Turner has hit safely in all 3 games he’s played for Fort Wayne.

Notes: Michael Kelly has been a tad inconsistent this year, but he’s been very good over his last two starts. On the year, Kelly is 3-3 with a 3.90 ERA over 7 appearances and 6 starts. Marcus Davis has now had multiple hits over each of his last 3 games. Davis is hitting a whopping. 450 over his last 10 games with 3 home runs and 8 RBI’s. On the year, Davis is hitting .355 with 7 home runs and 21 RBI’s.

Notes: Alex Dickerson made his first rehab start in this game and tripled while striking out 3 times. Dickerson was acquired from the Pirates last offseason for Miles Mikolas and Jaff Decker. Michael Gettys collected 2 hits in this game and raised his average up to .303 with the AZL Padres. Despite the high average, Gettys has struck out 27 times over 20 games, and 16 times over his last 10 games.
