Pitching was sparse in the farm system tonight, 5 of the 6 farm teams lost and every team allowed at least 4 runs. The Storm was the only team to record a victory due to their 13 run offensive explosion. Jace Peterson drove in 5 runs while Travis Jankowski extended his hitting streak to 13 games.

Notes: Donn Roach’s inconsistent season took another turn for worse. Prior to this start, Roach had not allowed an earned run in either of his last two starts. Unfortunately, Roach allowed 5 runs and 7 hits in this game and saw his ERA rise to 3.94. Over his last 10 starts, however, Roach owns a 3.02 ERA over 56.2 innings. Yeison Asencio hit his second home run since being promoted to San Antonio.

Notes: Walker Weickel’s disappointing year continued as he endured the roughest start of his career. Weickel allowed 7 runs and 7 hits while striking out only 1 batter. Weickel’s ERA ballooned to 5.27 over 16 starts and 80.1 innings on the year. Weickel has struck out just 57 batters over that time. Dane Phillips broke a 3 game hitless streak and raised his average to .282 with a couple of hits tonight.

Notes: Erik Schoenrock suffered his worst start as a professional. Schoenrock allowed a career high 9 hits and 4 runs while striking out a career low 2 batters. Fernando Perez has hit a little rough patch; he has just 1 hit over his last 3 games. His average has lowered to .239 in that span.

Notes: This was a rough game for the AZL Padres. They only had 3 hits offensively, and they were blown out 12-1. Three different pitchers allowed at least 3 runs. Franmil Reyes, who had one of the 3 hits, has now hit safely in 9 of his last 10 games. Reyes is hitting .309 over 68 AB’s.
