Daily Farm Round-Up: 7-26-13 

The AZL Padres provided an offensive explosion due to a career night from Jose Ruiz and 2 RBI from Dustin Peterson. Both the Storm and the Missions were treated to excellent pitching performances from their starting pitchers as they both held their opponents to just 1 run. Tucson and Fort Wayne were both postponed tonight.

Notes: Prior to tonight’s start, Matt Wisler had a couple of rough starts in a row. Wisler reversed his fortune, however, by throwing 6 innings of 1-run ball while striking out 6 and not allowing a walk. Wisler has spent the majority of the year at the Double-A level, and he has done well. Over 14 starts, he is 5-4 with a 3.43 ERA. Rico Noel is riding quite the hot streak; he is on a 4 game multi-hit streak while hitting .333 over his last 10 games.

Notes: Lee Orr was the star tonight for the Storm. Orr was the only Storm player with multiple hits; he reached base all 3 times he went up to bat, and he hit his 9th home run of the year. Travis Jankowski reached an impressive milestone in tonight’s game: he stole his 60th base of the season. Jankowski also doubled and drove in 2 runs.

Mayo described Renfroe as “a potential five-tool right fielder.” With a hit tonight, Trae Santos has now hit safely in 8 of his last 9 games, and is hitting .343 over his last 10 games.
