Led by a strong start from Matt Wisler, the Chihuahuas were the only team in the Padres organization to earn a victory tonight. Throughout the rest of the farm, the pitching struggled and the bats weren’t much better.

Notes: Hunter Renfroe has enjoyed a very solid July with the Missions. Over 17 July games and 64 AB’s, Renfroe is hitting .297 with 3 home runs and 14 RBI’s. Alex Dickerson has hit safely in all 3 games he’s played in since being assigned to the Missions. Dickerson has hit well throughout his entire minor league career, and has hit well through his first 10 games as a member of the Padres organization.

Morris’ start was very similar to Rafael De Paula’s start last night. Both pitchers went 6 innings and the only hits off of both pitchers were home runs.

Notes: It was a tough game for the TinCaps. Starting pitcher Ronald Herrera struggled as he allowed 8 base runners and 3 runs across less than 5 innings pitched. The offense wasn’t much better; they managed to score 2 runs, but no one had an RBI, both runs were unearned. One bright spot was the continued impressive play of Trea Turner who smacked his first extra base hit since July 20th.
