For the second night in a row, the Padres organization goes winless except for 1 team; tonight that team was the Eugene Emeralds. The Ems, led by Trae Turner and Marcus Davis, were able to net an 8-6 victory against the Volcanoes.

Notes: Rymer Liriano set a new single season career high in home runs tonight with 13. It’s been a productive season for the streaky Liriano who is hitting .255 with 13 home runs and 47 RBI’s over 326 AB’s. Leonel Campos allowed a run for the first time since June 11th tonight. Since joining the rotation, Campos has made 6 starts, 4 of which have been scoreless. Tonight was easily his worst start.

Notes: There wasn’t much Joe Ross could do in this game to avoid a loss. The Storm were shutout, went 0-for-5 with RISP, and committed 3 errors. Ross was going strong until he allowed 3 runs in the 4th inning. Following this game, Ross owns a 3.82 ERA over 99 innings pitched with the Storm.

Notes: Trae Turner hit his first professional home run in this game as the Emeralds won 8-6 despite committing 6 errors. Marcus Davis has been quite impressive for the Emeralds this year; Davis is hitting .321 over 78 AB’s with 6 home runs and 18 RBI’s. Davis was selected in the 24th round of the 2013 draft.
