Round Up Image 234

Half the farm had the day off, but the teams that did play all had bright spots. The T-Pads had an all around dominating game while the Emeralds won a close 1 run game. Even though the TinCaps lost 12-5, their 1st baseman, Diego Goris, had a home run and 3 RBI.

Notes: For the second night in a row, every starter for the T-Pads had at least 1 hit. Furthermore, every member of the starting lineup, excluding Jonathan Galvez, had at least 1 RBI. Burch Smith had a great start as he showed off his electric stuff and struck out 9 batters over 5 innings. Overall, it was just a great game for the T-Pads.

Fort Wayne TinCaps 5, Great Lakes Loons 12

Mallex Smith-CF: 2-4, BB, Run scored

Alberth Martinez-RF: 0-4, BB

Diego Goris-1B: 3-5, HR(5), 3RBI, K, Run scored

Joe Church-RP: 3.0 IP, 4H, 7R, ER, BB, 5K (L, 1-3)

Notes: The Fort Wayne pitchers didn’t stand a chance tonight as the defense behind them committed 7 errors- that was not a typo, Fort Wayne actually committed 7 errors. Max Fried struggled with command yet again; he’s walked 9 batters over his last 2 starts. His start tonight raised his ERA to 3.58 over 21 starts (105.2 innings pitched).

Eugene Emeralds 5, Everett AquaSox 4

Wynton Bernard-CF: 1-4, 2B, RBI, K

Malquiel Brito-DH: 1-5, 2B, RBI, 2K

Coby Cowgill-SP: 5.0 IP, 3H, 3ER, BB, 5K, HR Allowed

Notes: Donavan Tate reached base after each of his 4 plate appearances tonight. Tate’s .258 average with Eugene is nothing special, but his .425 OBP is impressive. Catcher Ryan Miller broke a 2 game hitless streak with a couple of hits tonight. Both of his hits tonight went for his extra bases; he only had 5 extra base hits prior to tonight’s game.
