The AZL Padres enjoyed an outstanding start from Pete Kelich and a strong performance from Franmil Reyes in their 9-4 victory. The Emeralds and the Missions struggled offensively while the T-Pads and the TinCaps each won by 3 runs.

Notes: For the 3rd time in 4 days, every member of the starting lineup for Tucson had at least 1 hit. Impressively, the T-Pads accomplished this against top prospect James Paxton of the Rainiers. Following this game, Jonathan Galvez has hit safely in 8 of his last 9 games. Galvez is hitting .351 over his last 10 games.

Only 1 of Hancock’s last 7 starts has been a quality start. A.J. Kirby-Jones now has 3 home runs over his last 10 games. Kirby-Jones is hitting .300 with 11 RBI over that span.

Notes: Make it two starts in a row for Joe Ross in which he’s done very well. Over his last two starts, Joe Ross has thrown 13 innings with only 8 hits and 1 earned run. This start was Ross’ first since July 1st in which he did not walk a single batter. Hunter Renfroe returned from injury and had a double in 4 AB’s.

Notes: Just an all around bad game for the Emeralds. Not only did they get shutout, but they also committed 3 errors. This loss extended their losing streak to 3 games. Donavan Tate is now on a 6 game hitting streak; Tate is hitting .333 over his last 10 games.

Notes: Pete Kelich has been fantastic with the AZL Padres this year. Kelich hasn’t allowed an earned run in 7 of his last 10 starts. Over 13 appearances and 10 starts, Kelich is 7-1 with a 1.40 ERA and 69 strikeouts over 58 innings pitched. Franmil Reyes continued a hot streak with 3 hits in this game. Over his last 10 games, Reyes is hitting .324 with 2 home runs and 9 RBI.
