Daily Farm Round-Up: 8-25-14

It was a sloppy night across the farm. The Chihuahuas were the only team in the organization to get a win as the Fort Wayne and Eugene offenses were nowhere to be found. The Missions were completely blown out by the Hooks.

Dickerson owns an impressive .324/.365/.514 line over 111 AB’s with the Missions. The negatives of this game: just about everything else. The pitching was horrendous and the defense committed 4 errors, which resulted in 7 unearned runs.
Lake Elsinore Storm: DNP
Fort Wayne TinCaps 2, Bowling Green Hot Rods 6
Trea Turner – SS: 0-4, 3K
Fernando Perez – 3B: 2-3, HR(16), 2RBI, Run scored

Notes: Trea Turner’s 8 game hitting streak was snapped tonight. However, Turner is still hitting .302 over his last 10 games, and .387 overall with Fort Wayne. Fernando Perez, who has quietly had a very solid year with Fort Wayne, provided all the offense for Fort Wayne tonight. His 2-run home run gave him 16 home runs and 89 RBI’s on the year.
Eugene Emeralds 1, Vancouver Canadians 3
Auston Bousfield – CF: 1-4, K, Run scored
Nick Torres – RF: 0-4, RBI, K
Marcus Davis – 1B: 1-4, K

Notes: Despite pitching well, Zechariah Lemond was tagged with the loss tonight. The Emeralds could only score 1 run for Lemond, and committed 4 errors on defense that led to 1 unearned run for Lemond and 1 unearned run for the bullpen. Lemond, the Padres 2014 3rd round draft pick, has pitched well with Eugene; he owns a 3.79 ERA over 38 innings pitched.
AZL Padres 5, AZL Dodgers 6
Ryan Jackson – SS: 1-4, Run scored
Luis Urias – 3B: 1-3, Run scored
Michael Gettys – CF: 2-4, RBI, 2 Runs scored
Rodney Daal – DH: 2-3, RBI, Run scored

Mason Smith – RF: 0-4, 3K
Taylor Cox – SP: 5.0 IP, 8H, 4R, 2ER, 2BB, 3K
Notes: The AZL Padres could have won this game if they got some production from the bottom of their lineup; the bottom 3 hitters combined to go 0-for-12 with 10 strikeouts. Michael Gettys drove in his 10th run over his last 10 games giving him 36 RBI’s over 50 games with the AZL Padres.
