Daily Farm Round-Up: 8-9-14 

I’m sorry that I haven’t posted the Round-Up lately, I’ve been dealing with finals. You can expect the Round-Up on a daily basis again. Tonight, the farm system went 3-2 with strong offensive performances from El Paso, Lake Elsinore, and Eugene.

Notes: Rymer Liriano has been outstanding at the Triple-A level with the Chihuahuas. While he is still looking for his first home run, Liriano is hitting .467 over his first 60 AB’s with 13 RBI’s over 15 games. Liriano is hitting .475 with 19 hits over his last 10 games. Jake Goebbert has hit well with El Paso since being sent down; Goebbert is hitting .317 over 164 AB’s with the Chihuahuas. Cody Decker hit 2 home runs giving him an even 20 on the year. Decker has been mashing lately; he has 6 home runs over his last 10 games.

Notes: Joe Wieland has been very successful over his first two rehab starts with the Missions. Over those two starts, Wieland has tossed 9 innings and allowed just 2 runs with 6 strikeouts.

Notes: Jose Rondon has been on fire at the plate recently; Rondon is currently on a 10 game hitting streak and over that time Rondon is hitting .417 which has brought his average up to .338 over 20 games with Lake Elsinore. Gabriel Quintana has hit 3 home runs over his last 10 games giving him 17 on the year. Quintana’s previous career high in home runs was 9.

Notes: Kyle Lloyd has only allowed 3 earned runs over his last 4 starts bringing his ERA down to 3.97 over 99.2 innings pitched with Fort Wayne. Trea Turner has continued to hit well with Fort Wayne; Turner is hitting .348 over his last 10 games with 2 home runs and 6 RBI’s.
