The Chihuahuas and the Missions powered their way to victories while the TinCaps won off the strength of their pitching staff. The Padres 2014 minor league playoff teams are Lake Elsinore and Fort Wayne.

Peterson is hitting .307 over 322 minor league AB’s this season. Yeison Asencio fell just a triple short of the cycle tonight as he raised his average to .33 over 21 games with El Paso. With this win, the Chihuahuas evened their record at 72-72.

Notes: After going the entire month of August without a home run, Hunter Renfroe ended his season with his 5th home run with the Missions. His solo shot gave him an even 100 RBI’s on the year. Renfroe had a hard time adjusting to the pitcher friendly Texas League, but it was a more than solid year for the young outfielder.

Turner performed immensely well with the TinCaps as he finished the season hitting .369 over 187 AB’s with Fort Wayne. Fernando Perez finished his first season in full season ball with a .284 average across 469 AB’s with Fort Wayne. Perez also had 18 home runs and 95 RBI’s.

Notes: The Emeralds offense struggled yet again as they were held to just 3 runs on 3 hits. Nick Torres was responsible for 2 of those hits; he finishes the year with a .254 average and 3 home runs with 23 RBI’s over 169 AB’s. Eugene finished the year with a 30-46 record.
