Daily Farm Round-Up: 9-15-13

The Missions won the championship! After losing the 2nd and 3rd game of the championship series, the Missions played their best baseball when it counted and walked away from the 2013 season champions. This will be the last Daily Farm Round-Up for a while; I hope you all enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Notes: The Missions did well in all phases of the game; the offense put up 5 runs on 10 hits, the pitching staff tossed a shutout, and Austin Hedges showed off his defensive prowess by throwing out the only runner who attempted to steal. Johan Limonta lead the offense with a grand slam in the 4th inning that put the game out of reach. Matt Wisler threw 3 perfect innings in relief of a solid Josh Geer as the Missions only allowed 4 hits in their championship clinching victory.

About the author: Alex Bartlett

Three weeks after I was born, Padre legend Tony Gwynn visited my hospital and handed out teddy bears to all the newborn children, including me. I have been a Padre fan ever since. Whether SD is in the midst of an exciting playoff run, or an uneventful off-season, I love following them and I love writing about them.
