Both the Missions and the TinCaps played in must win games today, and both teams rose to the occasion and collected victories. Hunter Renfroe was an offensive force for Fort Wayne while the Missions’ starter, Josh Geer, limited the Hooks’ offense to 2 runs over 6 quality innings.

Notes: The Missions advance in the playoffs as they won the 5th and final game of this series. Austin Hedges enjoyed his best playoff performance while Tommy Medica doubled in his last game with the Missions. Josh Geer tossed a quality start as he allowed 2 runs and struck out 7 over 6 innings of work.

Notes: Fort Wayne evened this best of 3 series with their victory tonight. The winner of the next game will determine who goes on in the playoffs. Hunter Renfroe continued his strong showing in the postseason; he had 2 hits, a triple and a home run, in tonight’s game and he scored 2 runs. Starting pitcher Colin Rea limited the Silver Hawks to just 1 run on 3 hits over 7 innings. The Fort Wayne pitching staff has been very good so far in the playoffs.
