Daily Friar 12.12.12
Let me start off by apologizing for not having a Daily Friar for you all yesterday. Life tends to get in the way at times and thus this fell onto the back burner. Today is a new day and with it comes a new Daily Friar. It also continues the very quiet offseason that the Padres are having in that so many other teams are making headlines, and the Padres are still looking for that one starting pitcher to help them out. Cameron Maybin even said on his twitter that he would love to see Edwin Jackson as a Padre. This I could see as definitely happening, in that he has history with Josh Byrnes and AJ Hinch, and he is a pretty dependable pitcher. He is not injury prone (only been injured once in his career) and he has been consistently good over this period as well. It remains to be seen if the Padres can make a play for him. The big trade yesterday happened between the Reds, Diamondbacks and Indians as Shin-Soo Choo is now a Red and Drew Stubbs is now an Indian. The DBacks received a handful of players in return for some of their players, but Choo and Stubbs were the bigger names including Didi Gregorius who is now going to be a DBack. You can read all about the trade here. Not a whole lot to report today, but what articles there are for the Padres are below. Enjoy
