Daily Friar 3.20.12

Daily Friar Banner Rennick

Fox Sports San Diego officially launched yesterday. The only problem is, only Cox subscribers are able to view it right now. The reason for the new Fox deal was so that everybody in the greater San Diego area could watch the games. With two weeks to opening day it will be interesting to see what other providers get on it. All I can say is don’t be mad at FSSD, it’s out of their hands. It’s all about the cable providers now. In other quick news Carlos Quentin had his knee surgery yesterday. Also teams have been asking about our bench players, but the Padres are not quick to pull the trigger yet. Here are the rest of your Padres links for today:

With Quentin out, who bats cleanup? –
” But two weeks is a long time for a lineup to be absent its centerpiece cleanup hitter, and the Padres have no obvious candidate to fill Quentin’s role.”

On that fateful night of September 6, 1989 when I came into this world, the game was on in the delivery room and the Padres beat the Astros and I have been forever engrained with Padre blood.
