Daily Friar 7.13.13

I’m back with the Daily Friar after taking a day off from it. Too much things got in the way yesterday for me to have time to sit down and write it, but fear not because your daily dose of Padres and baseball news is here today! After last night’s game it sounds as good as time as any to remind you that the Friarhood is not only a fan page and a community for Padres fans to mingle, but it is also a support group. That’s right we are helping you get through this horrendous stretch that the team is going through. We are all fans of this team and will always be fans of this team, but that doesn’t mean that we have to be happy with what is going on. Even the best optimists are scratching their heads over this one and are starting to get frustrated. As if that ten game losing skid wasn’t bad enough, the Padres have started another losing streak after winning just one game. In fact they have lost twelve of thirteen games. I truly hope that it gets better soon, but I really don’t know at this point. Right now though this team looks to be sellers after the All-Star break. It was crazy to think that they were going to be buyers, but then everything went downhill quick. It’s looking like Game of Thrones out there. I hope you don’t have a favorite player, because they might not make it to the end.

About the author: Matt Rennick

Born and raised in San Diego and a Padres fan since day one. On that fateful night of September 6, 1989 when I came into this world, the game was on in the delivery room and the Padres beat the Astros and I have been forever engrained with Padre blood. I have followed sports my whole life and have written the Daily Friar for over a year and enjoy bringing all of you the news each morning.
