Daily Friar 7.19.12
The Padres continue to play exciting baseball. In the past we were accustomed to watch the team put up three, maybe four runs and then hope the pitching staff could hold down the opposing bats. Lately though, the offense has been coming through with much higher run totals. This was the case yesterday as the Padres put up 8 runs on the board while hitting with runners in scoring position. They went 4-13 yesterday and 5-9 the previous day with RISP. Maybe things are turning around for this squad. The one thing I really like about how we are scoring runs is that the ball has only left the yard once in this Astros series off Padres bats. So we are scoring with singles and doubles which is how we should be winning games. Here are your Padres links for today:
