Daily Friar 7.6.12

Daily Friar Banner Rennick

These Padres are on fire! The Reds in all fairness should have won that game last night. But they made one mistake, taking Mat Latos out of the game. This was a great pitchers duel between Latos and Edinson Volquez, and Latos had the upper hand the whole game. Then they went to the pen and Logan Forsythe smacked a homer to deep left field. And wouldn’t you know it, the little guys on the team came through again. Everth Cabrera sent the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the ninth to left center to bring us all home for a win. Now that I have recapped the game, you can read the official recap below in the first link. Let’s get win number 7 tonight! Here are your Padres links for today:

Cabrera walks off with Padres’ sixth straigh win –
“Grandal’s double to start the ninth inning helped set the table for the Padres’ 2-1 victory over the Reds in front of a crowd of 25,181 at Petco Park, as many of the young players on the roster — who are short on service time but certainly not on confidence — continued to contribute to this blissful run.”
