Daily Friar 8.15.13

Daily Friar Banner Rennick

Andrew Cashner had a heck of a game throwing the ball, but the Padres offense couldn’t give him anything to work with. Some silly mistakes led to missed opportunities that either could have prevented the Rockies from scoring, or led the Padres to scoring. They lost the game in typical Padres fashion where things that go wrong tend to be glaring when the game is over. Life isn’t easy as a pitcher especially when you can give your team seven solid innings (retiring the last fourteen batters in order) and still lose the game. Such is the life of Andrew Cashner right now. The Padres are back home for the weekend as the Mets are in town. It will be Tyson Ross going against Zack Wheeler at 7:10 PST. Should be a great pitching matchup.
