Daily Friar 8.19.13

Let me start off with a little house keeping. I have recently started a new job and will have a hard time doing the Daily Friar on a regular basis. Therefore, Brad Beattie will be stepping in during the week to fill in to help me out. You should know Brad from the Rumor Mill pieces that we ran prior to the trade deadline. Also to save myself time I am going back to what I was doing for a while, which is to just report the news and give you guys links to see. That means I won’t have the scores, schedule and standings anymore. I apologize for this, but for now this is what I have to do. So that’s where this stands right now. I want to be able to give you a piece every day and this is the compromise that we have come to. So let’s get you to those links so you can read about Will Venable’s walk-off home run!

Will Venable is doing Will Venable things – Padres Public

“So who is Will Venable? It depends on what kind of streak he’s on at the moment. Right now he’s on a good run.”

Daily Farm Round-Up: 8-18-13 – Alex Bartlett of The Friarhood

“Led by a 4 RBI night from Jose Urena, the AZL Padres beat the AZL Reds 7-4. The Missions and the TinCaps won due to excellent starts from Eddie Bonine and Zach Eflin, respectively. The T-Pads lost a close game by 1, but every member of their starting lineup had at least 1 hit.”
