Everybody is going to have their bad day. As good as Edinson Volquez has been for the Padres as of late, he had one of those bad days last night. We know that he can be a wild pitcher at times. We saw it early in the season, especially on opening day, and the old Eddy came back to put us in a hole early. It wasn’t necessarily a deep hole, but for once Bud Black got in there just in the nick of time to avoid catastrophic damage. I have faith in Darren Balsley in that he will sit down with Volquez and work out any kinks that may have showed up last night. Granted he was pitching with a blister, so hopefully that is the only thing wrong. Today is the rubber match so hopefully we can take this series. Here are your Padres links for today:
