Daily Friar 8.8.12

Daily Friar Banner Rennick

That game was pretty fun to watch last night, but so has most Padres baseball as of late. What I really liked though was that we were hitting with runners in scoring position again, which is always a nice asset to have during any game. The team went 4-10 last night with RISP, which is a respectable number compared to their season average. The only nervous part to the game was in the middle innings when the bullpen came in to try and get things done. Brad Boxberger just gave up too many hits, and then the runs started coming in. But the door was eventually slammed shut as Brad Brach, Luke Gregerson, and Huston Street shut the Cubs down after the 7th. Great all around performance and they are going for the sweep today.
