I guess when you keep winning every once in a while you want a bit of a challenge. Or so it would appear for the Padres last night. Despite the two home runs that Clayton Richard gave up, and the one that Luke Gregerson gave, the Padres still pulled out the win last night at Coors Field. The decisive run came when Cameron Maybin was able to make it home on an infield single by Chris Denorfia. Of course all the stars aligned for that play to happen. So maybe we got lucky last night, who knows. Either way the Padres grabbed another August win before flipping the calendar to September. One fact to note, if I did the math right (i.e. counting) with the win last night, and the Giants losing, the Padres had the best record in August in all of MLB. That’s pretty exciting to take in. Reminds me of those hot May’s that we had a couple years ago. Here are your Padres links for today:
