Dodgers Dismiss Padres, Extending Losing Streak To Seven
Things were looking up after beating the Giants on the road in the first game of the road trip. The Padres cut their deficit to nine games out of first place in the NL West with 27 games left against division opponents. But the bottom fell out from there as they lost the last seven games of the trip, culminating with a three game sweep at the hands of their southern California rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Padres still had a chance to have a .500 record for the month of August, but their loss on Wednesday dropped them to 13-15.
The Padres now head to September eyeing the future with a plethora of prospect coming up to audition for 2012.
Below is a recap of the end of a forgettable road trip to close out August.
