The Arizona Fall League is under way and the Padres have some top prospects playing right now. Many of the Padres minor leaguers haven’t received extensive playing time yet, but here’s an update on how they are doing. This article is going to become a daily occurrence, so if you’re sick of watching the same teams in the MLB playoffs and want fresh Padres news daily, come back and read tomorrow’s installment!

Austin Hedges-C: 2-4, 2 singles

Cory Spangenberg-2B: 3-8, 2B, 2 singles, 1 SB

Tommy Medica-1B: 0-4, K

Keyvius Sampson-P: 1.0 IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, K

Johnny Barbato-P: 0.2 IP, 0H, 1ER, 4BB, K

Adys Portillo-P: 1.0 IP, 1H, 4ER, HR Allowed, HBP, 2BB, 0K

Notes: Hedges and Spangenberg have both done well in their limited playing time while Medica was held hitless in the only game he played. Johnny Barbato and Adys Portillo both struggled in their only appearances while Keyvius Sampson tossed a perfect inning.

About the author: Alex Bartlett

Three weeks after I was born, Padre legend Tony Gwynn visited my hospital and handed out teddy bears to all the newborn children, including me. I have been a Padre fan ever since. Whether SD is in the midst of an exciting playoff run, or an uneventful off-season, I love following them and I love writing about them.
