The Padres send Webb down to make room for Webb today, I'm fully expecting a bunch of people to flip out and call for Mujica's head.

It was either Webb or Frieri and Frieri has not given up a run so he had to stay

No Flipout here, I think it was the right move. Mujica is pitching well in his last dozen outings... yeah he gave up another homer in one of those, but he had like 10 outings in a row with no Earned Runs....
Webb was not pitching all that well recently and will have the opportunity to work it out and be back here soon

yeah Webb has a bright future. He is pretty young, only 24, and has some good stuff. His fastball is one of the hardest moving fastballs I have seen. It darts all over the place. He was dominant early in the season, but just seemed to lose confidence over time. His era was 3.05, thats still very low. Good guy, will be back soon

Man I agree is ball moves as much as anyone I have seen in awhile.... and at high speed... that is nasty stuff to try to hit.... That must be hard to control though... I think the old axiom of throw it down the middle and let the ball do it's stuff is the best advice
he will be back and I think he will be around a long time

Yeah I'm not worried about our pen though. Our starters, especially Clayton and Wade have looked pretty bad lately. That's a major concern, for down the road also. I mean we can't compete, let alone win a World Series with our current staff pitching this way.

Well if LeBlanc and Richard can get back to doing what they were doing we can compete.... I have a lot of faith in Balsley to get the most out of them... Maddux called him the best pitching coach he had ever been around.
He's fixed Correia a couple of times over the past two seasons and gotten more from him that anyone in his career.
I think Garland is on the way to fixing his early innings problems...
If Garland, Latos and Correia are right then we can compete... if not we are dead.... and then either Richard or LeBlanc has to step up
I have never thought we were a WS team, but heck I didn't even think we were a play-off team... I am frankly more worried about the bats going to sleep against the Cards pitching or the Braves or the Philly's in the play-off's (if we get there and I don't just assume that we will get there)

Sending Webb down was the right move for now. Don't get me wrong I like they guy but right now we need to stick with Frieri.

Ehhh can't get all up on Wade too much. In his last 10 starts he's had to face CO twice, ATL, LAD, TB, teams with some hitting power.

The only glaring stat the Edward has is the HR. He rivals all the starters in that category, and that is not good for a short reliever.
If he can get that under control, he'll be fine. I don't know that sending him down to Portland will accomplish anything other that opening the spot.
With Webb you may get some longer term benefits by sending him down till the Roster expansion.
