Looks like Hoyer is going to maintain control of Ludwick, but my question really is...what is he going to do with him.
Start him or trade him?
Ludwick was a hot mess since coming to San Diego, in months normally when the park plays fair. I can only imagine what kind of head case he may turn in to playing in Petco during April and May.
As I said during the Friarhood Radio show, I would like to see him tendered and then traded. He is going to continue to struggle to hit in the west and we have a surplus of OF's.

Word on the street from MLBTR is that the Phillies are hunting for a RF.

Ludwick and Adams/Frieri/Gregerson for Werth would be a dream come true. Having said that I know it'll never happen.

He has to be signed as a free agent. Players just need to be moved to clear salary. Although I think is well WERTH the coin, Jayson would have to take half of what he can get on the open market to be a Padre.

"He is going to continue to struggle to hit in the west and we have a surplus of OF's."
That's a big assumption based off of 200 AB's especially when the guy was coming off of an injury and expected to protect Adrian Gonzalez rather than being protected by Albert Pujols. If you can trade him for quality and use the money saved to make us a better team next year, I'm all for it. I don't mind going into the season with him as our LFer and I won't be surprised if he has a good season.

Werth is about to be grossly overpaid.
