Although I was not the biggest fan of Yorvit, not even I can deny his .289 avg and uncanny ability to get clutch hits before the ASB were a huge part of the Padres success in 2010.

At the same time his .215 average after August 1st was a huge eye sore and although I don't think he is completely to blame, let's be honest, he doesn't make the line up card.

Either way I thought he would get a one year 2.5M deal, so to see him get 3M in 2011 and 3.25M in 2012 (not confirmed if it is an option yet) is a bit of a surprised.

My question is, do you think he got fair market value, he is over paid or under paid?

I agree with you, I didn't think he'd get a mu;ti-year agreement, but good for him. He did a decent job here, and I'm sad to see him go. That being said, who do the Padres get to platoon with Hundley? Barajas, Molina? Or do they just sign a journeyman, and commit to Hundley full-time?

Molina is off the market. Blue Jays resigned him.

I'm getting really nervous about this whole free agency offseason thing...
Everyday, crucial payers are getting signed to other teams, and I'm not sure if we can make it for 2011... I'd hate to see us in rebuilding mode again.

I think Jed needs to make a move and sign Barajas or Hudson and/or JHJ quickly before any other teams get their meaty paws on them.

I was referring to Bengie Molina, lol. On the plus side, the Padres have 2 supplemental picks to go with their 2 1st rounders. Not too shabby. The Padres have been mentioned as suitors for Jason Bartlett, which I feel would be a solid move, plays solid defense, and isn't a liability with the stick. Maybe Ryan Theriot becomes a candiate at second, now that Uribe is a Dodger.

As I tweeted earlier today, I have a feeling we will hear some Molina chatter after the first of the year. Not great, but unless Hundley steps up it looks like we are just waiting for Hagerty.
