Sounds like the Dodgers are out of the race after signing Uribe (which I feel was a bad move), but either way Bartlett is on the block and the Padres are in the mix.

Bartlett had an outstanding 2009, followed it up with a weak 2010.
In 2009 .320/.389/.490 14HR, 29 2B, 30 SB
In 2010 .254/.324/.350 4HR, 27 2B, 11 SB

To be honest, those numbers make me very skeptical. If you look at 2007 and 2008 his line resembles 2010 much more than 2009. With that in mind, I think having a proper perspective when projecting Bartlett's numbers 2011 is very important.

Bartlett is in his last year of arbitration and made 4M in 2010. Which means he is in line to make close to what it would cost to have a player like Tejada. Not sure I'm on board with Bartlett.

I agree. If Tampa non-tenders him then maybe I would be interested. His defense had been in decline according to the UZR/150 metric and his 2009 offensive season was clearly an outlier. He's st to cash in through arbitration and could get $5 million plus. No, that's alright. I'd rather trot Everth Cabrera back out there than do that. I still think we need to pursue Orlando Hudson and would be alright if we returned Tejada to start at SS and spell Headley at 3B against LHP.

I love the idea that Glen brought up. I would love to see us pursue the O-Dog Orlando Hudson to play 2b. He has a good glove and can bring speed and athleticism that Jed likes. He would be a good top of the order guy and could move Maybin to the 2 spot in the lineup.

Miggy played well for us and would love to see him sporting that Padres jersey next year. He played a solid short stop and drove the ball to the gaps. Clutch hitter and would bring that leadership to the locker room that is needed with players like Yorvit Torrealba and possibly eckstein departing.
