Against popular belief the fences should not be moved in.
Sure they are hitting a pathetic .199 at home while scoring only 65 runs. But the problem is not where the fences are, but whats going through the players heads.
In sports the mental aspect of the game is a huge factor in a players success.
When at home the Padres are letting the spacious outfield get into their head, thus not doing their job. Common, on your getting paid a lot of money to play baseball. Instead of complaining about something out of your control, work on getting your head in the correct spot and get a base hit now and then.
Thoughts? Please disagree with my!

Yeah, my whole point is that the players are not doing part of their job. Instead of getting their head right and focus on the HUGE gaps they are complaining that the fences are really far away.
The thing is they are not hitting much worse then opponents in PETCO. And thats what you have to look at, not the home away stats, because they are obviously going to be very different.
(These stats from todays edition of the UT)
Team Runs HR SO BA OBP SLG Wins
Padres 2,229 460 4,176 .240 .318 .368 309
Opponent 2,306 498 4,497 .240 .305 .369 287
