While he's an ex-padre, he retired this morning.
He stated his knee just wasn't holding up.

The problem with Brian Giles is that he was taken from the NL Central Division and the Padres got him on the downside of his carreer, still wish him the best and hope that he can work out his problem with his missus

While I wouldn't make that trade again it's hard to feel bad about a trade that brought a guy in who led us to a few playoff appearances.

Yeah I see where you are coming from. But I still think that Jason Bay would have had a much greater effect on this team than Brian Giles. Giles was a good leader but Bay was an All-Star.
