Well we already have one going for Adrian so I figured this would be the spot to talk about losing Heat if that's what it comes to.

Bell says he is willing to sign a San Diego friendly extension.

Even if they can keep him I think that he should be moved if Jed can get a haul for him.

I agree, it all depends on what is coming back in return. I would not trade him before the deadline though, the Padres are young enough as it is. One of the more under rated things IMO in BB is closing out games,( relying on an injury prone Adams or young guy like Gregerson would scare me) however the Padres need to be ahead to do so, I think they will have enough offense for that to make sense.

All that aside, I think Bell is a good guy, regardless of outspoken he is or how (at times) he comes off as cocky or brash. I like the fact, he is "open" to a "home town discount".

Agreed haha. Nathan is officially out for the season. If Heath gets off to a hot start and Twins are struggling...you never know what they could get. With the 8 year deal given to Mauer they need to be winning.

that contract will make them more desperate than they already are. They have to put fannies in the seat with that ballpark, Mauer has to be paid and they cant afford to tick off the fans with no stability in the back of the pen. I have no idea what their middle relief and set up guys look like. Those guys are more important than a closer at this point. In Bell you have both set up and closer. His value to them has to be a topic of discussion. I dont know why Bell isnt more of a topic on Baseball Tonite or ESPN. He's cheap by Twins standards and I dont think Rauch and this other guy I hear about are the answer to their problem. We need a closer and Ive kicked sand about not wanting to trade Bell but we do need a catcher like TODAY. I hear they have some kind of catching prospect worth talking about. I could be wrong.
